police department, services that we provide. We have also given you some

As the Chief of Police I am proud to say that the Spring Valley Police Department has a commitment to
community service and an enhanced quality of life, to serve and protect our citizens, prevention of crime, enforcement of our laws, and the
continued dedication and professionalism of the men and women of the Spring Valley Police Department.
Spring Valley Police has an experienced group of law enforcement officers that comprise a
uniformed patrol force,
communications division, records division, detective bureau, anti-crime unit, juvenile
unit, K-9 unit, DARE and School Resource officer,
Tactical Team and commercial
vehicle enforcement unit. We also participate in the Rockland County Narcotics
Task Force and the Rockland Intelligence Center, and
will soon participate in an FBI Violent Crime task
force.
Over the past seven years our department has seen an
over fifty percent reduction in Part I offences
reportable to the State through our incident based
reporting program (IBR). This in part attributed to our
goal of continued the professionalism and dedication to the citizens of Spring
Valley as well as aggressive and proactive law
enforcement. Our officers have
a deep commitment in the welfare and the quality of life of the Spring Valley community, and maintain a high
standard of service. Officers continually go through training throughout their careers to stay on top of
the ever changing laws, technical advancements in law enforcement, and crime prevention and
detection techniques.
In 2005 and 2006, Spring Valley Police participated
in the innovative program sponsored by the Division of
Criminal Justice Services called "Operation
IMPACT". Through this initiative, Spring Valley
Police were able to partner with the Division of Parole,
State Liquor Authority, Federal Bureau of Investigation,
Drug Enforcement Administration, Bureau of Alcohol
Tobacco and Firearms, Immigration and Customs
Enforcement, Rockland County Narcotics Task Force,
Rockland Intelligence Center, Department of Probation
and the Rockland County District Attorney's Office.
Through the efforts of this initiative, we have been
able to provide services such as Blue-Gray patrols,
which partner State Troopers with Spring Valley police
officers, allowing us to address criminality and quality
of life issues with a "strike force"
technique. Our partnerships with State Police
Investigators and other state federal and county
agencies, have afforded us the ability to address
complex criminal issues that would ordinarily tax the
resources of our Department beyond what we could
provide.
The members of the Spring Valley Police Department
