All tax payments must be physically received in the Village of Spring Valley Treasurer’s office
between 9:00AM – 4:00PM, no later than June 30, 2020.
In person: Checks and money orders payable to Village of Spring Valley. The tax office will not accept multiple checks from various parties on any single tax bill. Payment by credit card (Visa, MasterCard and Discover only) will be accepted only if the credit card holder with valid identification is present. Additional credit card processing fees apply. Cash will not be accepted.
By mail: Checks may be sent to our lockbox along with the payment coupon portion of the tax bill. Late payments will be returned to the sender and subject to penalty unless an official USPS Postmark indicates the payment was sent on or before June 30, 2020.
Online: Online payments may be made via e-check, Visa, Mastercard or Discover.
Payments received after June 30, 2020 will be assessed penalties as follows:
The Village is unable to accept any tax payments made in any manner after October 31. The Tax Rolls are closed at the end of business on October 31st and a list of all remaining unpaid taxes will be sent to the Rockland County Commissioner of Finance who will assess additional penalties and interest. After October 31st, any questions regarding outstanding property tax bills MUST be addressed to the County Commissioner of Finance at 845-634-3878.
If the address on the front of the bill is incorrect, please call the Village Assessor at (845) 352-1100 x193; an address change form along with photo ID will be required.
The name on the tax bill is based on information obtained from the County Clerk’s office and is what’s reflected on the Assessor’s Tax Roll as of December 31, 2019. Change of ownership will be updated as received from the County Clerk’s Office.
You may be eligible for Senior Citizen tax exemptions on Real Property Tax Bills. Applications are available in the Assessor’s Office. All applications must be filed on or before January 1st of each year.
